Godzilla celebrates 60 years in Japan with a look back at all the classics, whilst Hollywood looks forward to its own reboot in May.
Toho Co. celebrates Godzilla's 60th anniversary with a
makeover to the official Godzilla website. Introductions to the 28 films
complete with videos and pictures will be up soon as well as interviews
with Godzilla fans "from all walks of life" in a section titled "me
and Godzilla" which will be revealing its first guest soon. Unfortunately
the website is currently only available in Japanese, but the interviews
should be picked up and translated by Asahi Shimbun or other online Multi language
media outlets as the content grows. Godzilla's first film debuted in
1954 in Japan and the star of the movie has since become as iconic a character
to Americans as anything created in Hollywood. If you're new to Godzilla and
want to learn more about this iconic classic (before the latest American
installment hits theaters in May) you can watch James Rofle aka the Angry Video
Game Nerd's full video reviews of all 28 movies here. Just scroll to the bottom of the list and get started with the review of 1954's Godzilla. If you want to go a
step further and watch them, 12 Godzilla movies are available to Hulu+ users and
digital copies can be purchased of all 28 classic Japanese releases from
various media outlets online.
